Yunnan pu’er tea is one of China’s traditional famous teas with a long history and rich cultural heritage. Its history can be traced back thousands of years. Nowadays, pu-erh tea is usually categorized by production area and year, the longer the aging time the better the taste and aroma of pu-erh tea.
Puerh Teaste
The ripe or cooked pu erh tea is an aged tea, unlike other teas, it can mellow and improve with age like fine wine. Pu’erh tea is post-fermented, which means that the tea leaves go through a microbial fermentation process after they have been dried and rolled, causing the leaves to darken and change in flavor, it is therefore known as “black tea” or “dark tea” in the West.

Yunnan province is known for its rolling hills and rivers, which provide a diverse growing environment for tea cultivation. The tea trees grow in these mountainous regions which amidst the clouds all year round, where has full sunshine, fresh air and fertile soil.
